As you can see in the examples below, coordinating your wardrobe makes a unified and pleasing portrait that is suitable for display. Not all coordination has to be the same colors, neutrals, hues and colorways are all around us. We have seen beautiful portraits in many colors.
Some ideas for coordinating your wardrobe:
Avoid bright colors that may reflect on your complexion (fluorescents, especially yellow and green can create a glow that changes your skin tone in photos)
Avoid small checks and small stripes that can be warped in the processing of the image
If your session is on a solid or masters background prints may be okay as long as they are not overwhelming and coordinate. If everyone has loud prints it can feel overstimulating and distract from the people
If your session is outdoors a neutral or nature inspired colors work best
If your session is themed, try to stick to the theme for everyone

When you are planning your portrait session, it is important to coordinate everyone's wardrobe. A cohesion in color and style creates a personalized look that suits your family and style.

Everyone doesn't need to wear the same thing, but that can also be an option.
